The chest measurement decides it.
A harness is sized by girth, not by weight and not by breed. Two dogs the same weight can be two sizes apart. Take a soft tape to your dog once and you will never guess again.
Chest girth
All the way around the deepest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs. Snug, not tight. This is the measurement that picks the size.
Neck
Around the base of the neck, low, where a harness sits — not high up where a collar sits. Leave a finger's width of slack.
Weight
Not used to choose a size, but send it with the other two if you email us — it helps us sanity-check the answer.
Body measurements each size is cut to fit
| Size | Chest girth | Neck |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 11–15″ / 28–38 cm | 8–11″ / 20–28 cm |
| XS | 13–17″ / 33–43 cm | 9.5–12.5″ / 24–32 cm |
| S | 16–20″ / 40–50 cm | 11–15″ / 28–38 cm |
| M | 19–24″ / 48–60 cm | 13.5–18″ / 34–46 cm |
| L | 23–27.5″ / 58–70 cm | 16.5–21″ / 42–54 cm |
| XL | 27–32″ / 68–82 cm | 20–24.5″ / 50–62 cm |
Not every model runs the full range: the cooling mesh and skull-print harnesses start at XXS, the padded no-pull models start at S, and the sets run XS to XL. The sizes shown on a product page are the sizes that exist for that model.
Treat this as a guide, not a guarantee
These are the body measurements each size is aimed at. They are not certified measurements of the harness you will receive — webbing is cut to a tolerance and adjustment straps move the effective range.
If your dog measures within an inch of a size boundary, or falls outside the ranges above, email us before ordering. Send the chest girth, the neck and the weight to info@bravunet.com and we will tell you which size to order, or tell you plainly if nothing we make fits. We reply within 1 business day.
